Frozen In Motion
Frozen In Motion takes its inspiration from a range of field recordings captured in New York City, Shanghai, Tokyo, Paris, and Barcelona. Kodomo examines how these seemingly random and fragmented sonic moments can be a catalyst informing his composing process. From short looping melodies of the JR train bells to a distant choir captured in a French Cathedral, the sounds represent moments in time connecting human experiences. In this way, each track on the album is recasting a narrative of these sounds and moments.
The limited 500-piece specialty packaging of the Frozen in Motion CD includes a 12-page foldout panel featuring the artwork of New York visual artist Brian Graf. Graf is best known for his photography and his work has been shown throughout the United States as well as internationally.
